The 5th No-”L”

I know, I know, that’s an awfully cheesy title to the entry. It was nice to see the Lions pull off a road victory, winning a meaningless game in the manner in which they did. Normally, if they had followed their typical script, they most certainly would not have marched down the field for their last FG. Even at that point, with the game on the line, the choice not to line up and spike the ball and stop the clock was a cause for a great deal of nervous consternation. I didn’t believe that the field goal unit was going to line up and get the kick off in time as the few remaining seconds were quickly melting away.

Their were still a rash of mind-numbingly stupid mistakes and the game was far from a pretty victory. That being said, a win is still a win in the NFL, even if it is a little bittersweet. The Lions probably blew their chance for a Top 5 draft pick by posting another victory. You always want for your team to win, yet a player like D’Brickshaw Ferguson or A.J. Hawk may have made a huge difference for this team moving forward. When the dust has settled, the most important fact is that the Lions may have made a small step forward, in a season full of misery. As a Lion’s fan, sometimes you take what you can get.

  1. I was very pleased with the lions performance ,reason #1 being that they showed something that i ve kniown all along they had (THE ABILITY TO FINISH)and i dont care who you are or what team you support anyone who is a lions fan knows that the lions are capable . I have been saying it for years when the time comes to get a coach that can and will instill discipline into a much needed lions team and all the draft picksand free agent signees will pull together and all the nfl world will see something they never thought possible the lions as contenders mark these words as i say them to you DISCIPLINE is the key to turning this franchise around. when this will or even if it will remains to be seen but when it does watch out cause the real liions will step up and show all you lion haters what the real deal is …………..nuff said.

  3. Why ruin AJ Hawk’s promising career by drafting him. A top 5 pick would be nice, but I don’t have the confidence we won’t screw it up.
