This Cutler guy sounds pretty interesting. Do the Lions have a chance to draft him? Should they? or should they maybe focus on the offensive line to protect whoever they get to play quarterback? I’m at a loss as to what their main priorities should be.

Cutler is VERY interesting. I grew up in Nashville and followed Vanderbilt football. For 4 years, he’s the only reason they won ANYTHING in the tough SEC. He’s not that polished yet, but he’s a great leader from what I see. That’s something that Joey doesn’t naturally have, and it’s almost impossible to learn how to command a huddle.

Do you guys know anything about a large number of fans in Detroit who root against the Lions? This guy has a blog called ihatethehometeam.blogspot.com
who talks a lot about the Lions.

Also, what’s the consensus in Detroit about the hiring of Rod Marenelli?

I am very happy about signing Marenelli (although i was happy about mucci too)

I also am very very happy about getting Martz! Our new D-cordinator has a nice record also! I would have traded a lot of draft picks for these coaches. Should be a great season!

Doughboy-Cutler is blowing up big time. It’s quite likely he will already be selected by the time the Lion’s draft. Here is my Lion’s first round draft board:
1) A.J. Hawk OLB
2) Michael Huff S
3) Chad Greenway OLB
4) Tamba Hali DE
5) Vernon Davis TE

Davis and Hawk will likely be selected when the Lion’s draft. I think it will eventually come down to a choice between Greenway and Huff, unless something really surprising occurs. Cutler would be another 2-3 yr wait-Lion’s fans are going to be willing to wait in my opinion.
