Well stated, Big Blogger. I think we have some "devout wimps" on this team. I cannot repeat the foul language which left my mouth when I first heard this story. The game is football. It's a rough gig. I can understand some Lions' players not understanding the concept of contact, of hitting, of smashing or being smashed. If they don't want to deal with rough play, maybe France can get an NFL Europe that avoids hard work and runs from contact. Give 'em hell Marinelli.

Excellent points. My first reaction when I heard this was "that's the last thing Lions fans need to hear." I suspect the grievance was a calculated risk, both designed to send a message to players and to "smoke out" the guys who aren't with the program. I mean, what kind of football player files a grievance for "too much contact."

No uphill battle to make the roster for Shawn....he's one of (if not thee) the best players we've got. I know that's debatable....but he is certainly one of the best!
