JacketsFan--I love Calvin Johnson. He has character, is a freak of nature athletically, and appears to be a good teammate.

That being said, unless you are familiar with the Lions recent history, Detroit is a place where players like Johnson have traditionally underachieved, or languished, while the moribund Lions organization continues to flail away without a rudder.

The other problem, is Johnson came in with a TON of hype, and meanwhile the Lions passed on two players whose value exceeded Johnson's in their first season, at positions that neatly match up with their personnel needs on offense.

I hope you are right about Johnson. I am a little concerned that the Lions won't find a way to utilize his talents to their fullest, another organizational trademark, and his career could end up a bit of a disappointment.

I'm a Georgia Tech fan and I can tell you with absolute certainty that Calvin Johnson WILL be a superstar within the next 2-3 years. Sure the Lions have issues on offense, but CJ has thrived in crappy offenses (at tech). I shudder to think of what an "NFL-comfortable" CJ looks like. Seriously... the kid's an absolute freak.
