SleePac--You can admit it, "You Still Believe in Now", and no one can hold it against you. History Schmistory.

Yukon--How fresh are the smokes that you have to utilize in that wager, and what brand? Were there piles of ashes comprising of burnt tickets and shattered dreams, lining the paths to Ford Field?

Phil--It is surprising how far the organization has fallen since that '04 entry, a time when I was much less cynical about the team's plight. You are correct, their QB situation is far from settled and the Lions will continue to wildly grasp the air in hopes of grabbing hold of a serviceable candidate.

Patrick--the website you linked (Official Players Network) is very cool. Even with all of the technology and team's searching high and low for talent, there are occasional players who slip through the cracks, like a Trey Young for example.

I am from the West Coast and have followed the Lions over the last few years. I believe you had the opportunity to build on something 5-7 years ago but wanted instant success. Garcia, Harrington, Williams, Rogers... Unfortunately Joey did not have the opportunity to be mentored for a couple of years before throwing him to the wolves and a woeful offensive line. Garcia has shown he can still play. Culpepper will be the next dropped.

From your September 04 blog:
This is a pivotal time for Harrington and the Lions organization. All Detroit fans want to see Harrington become a top-flight Pro Bowl caliber performer. Rather than question Harrington’s fire, manhood, or choice of spirits why not question the management sense of the organization that implemented an offensive system that is supposedly so complicated that it takes 3-4 years to master in a time when first round draft picks are expected play and perform immediately? That is the real issue at hand in my eyes.

SleePac--just don't buy 'em at the box office. You can probably get a pair of tickets outside the stadium for a half box of smokes and a crayon.

There was nothing good which came out of yesterday's fiasco. I've tried hard to find positives for the future, but now realize that their situation is far worse than I ever imagined. The Fords will need to completely overhaul the entire structure of this team and management. Anything less than such an overhaul will doom this team for the foreseeable future.

Ya know....I'm tempted to get tickets to a game this year just to say I was a part of history.
