Week 16: “Aints”, Saints and Infamy

December 21, 2008 on 1:41 pm | In Uncategorized |

The Lions have a very interesting history in games when they are facing the Saints.

Who can forget the 63-yard Tom Dempsey field goal? Or the late-season victory a few years ago that created a precipitous fall in their draft position, due to one meager victory.

This is the most intriguing of all, of course. I earmarked this game as a potential victory early in the season and I am not changing my opinion.

Still, even though I believe in Santa and the goodwill of the season, I think the Lions will still find their way to an 0-16 record. Too many improbable scenarios have been fulfilled for them to avoid their date with infamy now.

  2. I guess I was a little off with my prediction, too. How can April be any better if the Ford’s are content with retaining the same monkeys who have botched so much of their current roster up.

I am truly scared for the future of this franchise.

  3. I also read that he is keeping those two to help him hire a new executive. That means they won’t be stearing the ship I hope. In that case the new guy will surely stipulate that he wants to bring in his own guys. I can’t put anything past the Fords but this just seems too stupid and anti productive even for them. The outrage and laughing will be coming from the entire country, and not just Detroit if they don’t hire a real GM at this point. Very Scary indeed.
