Hey Mike–I think all new head coaches need someone with experience to rely upon. That being said, Cunningham is an incredibly safe pick. Don’t diminish the fact that Cunningham is unlikely to become a hot coaching prospect anytime soon, so he will likely be around a while, which is also important.

I hope this hire works out, but I don’t give it much of a chance. Looks like Schwartz needed his security blanket and hired one. At least he hired one he can control, unlike the Martz hire.
